Then Let it Rain

Here, it rains even
under full sun, each weighted
drop shone through, cleansing.

I’m sure of less than
all I thought I knew before—
how obvious now.

I am heavier
since the lightening, somehow
gaining with the loss.

Still I idle in
the fractured glow, needing yet
to be reassured.

Later, the grass will
appear a shade brighter green
and, nourished, straighter.

Is that all it takes,
a good drenching soak? Rinsed clear
of all that still aches.
